Challenge:
Saadiyat Island is one of Abu Dhabi’s most ambitious developments, designed to become a major tourism and residential hub. During construction, housing for up to 40,000 workers was required. The first phase needed a sustainable hot water solution for 20,000 workers across 60 buildings, with a daily demand of 605,000 litres at 60°C.
Solution:
Solahart supplied a large-scale commercial solar water heating system to meet the entire hot water requirement for the village.
System Details:
- Hot Water Requirement: 605,000 litres/day at 60°C
- Solar Collectors: 3,328 x Solahart BT Collectors (6,634 m² total)
- Storage: 48 x Solahart 7000 DBe Heat Store II, 36 x 3500 DBe Heat Store II (462,000 litres total)
- Boosting: Electric
