The Western Australian Government is making it easier for households to take advantage of solar energy storage with the WA Residential Battery Scheme. This initiative offers rebates to help eligible residents invest in home battery systems, reducing reliance on the grid and maximising solar savings.
How the Battery Scheme Works
From 1 July 2025, eligible WA households can access one-off rebates to support the purchase of residential batteries. A total of 20,000 rebates will be available for Synergy and Horizon Power customers, with the rebate amount based on battery capacity:
- Up to 19,000 eligible Synergy customers could receive up to $5,000 ($500 per kWh for up to 10 kWh of battery storage).
- Up to 1,000 eligible Horizon Power customers could receive up to $7,500 ($750 per kWh for up to 10 kWh of battery storage).
The value of the battery will vary depending on the size of the home battery.
