The Benefits of Going Solar
Reduce your energy bills today
Solar is a great way to reduce your energy bills and your reliance on energy companies by harnessing the sun’s free energy. At Solahart, for over 65 years, we have been delivering hot water free from the sun to households around the world. Since then, our range has expanded to include solar power and battery storage technology.
Replace your old gas or electric water heater with a Solahart solar water heater, and you could save up to 65%* of your hot water energy use. Install a Solahart PV system to provide power to your home and supplement this with a battery to store free power for use at night or when the sun’s not shining. Any surplus power can then be fed back into the grid.
Because Solahart provides all three solar solutions, you will get unbiased advice on the best system for your needs. Our dealers and installers are fully qualified, trained and experienced professionals to ensure a quality installation.
We also have an extensive range of commercial solar solutions for businesses trying to reduce their energy bills. Particularly those using plenty of hot water or power during daylight hours.
A more sustainable future
Switch to a Solahart solar water heater and save up to 2.7 tonnes of carbon emissions per year^, which is equivalent to taking a small car off the road. Install a Solahart PV system to enjoy more independence from the grid and then add a Tesla Powerwall, LG Chem or BYD storage battery for a complete solution.
Our goal is to help you decide on which solar solution is more suitable for you, and not only to save you money but also to help reduce your carbon footprint and live a more sustainable lifestyle.
Take advantage of government incentives
The great news about residential and commercial solar is that the Government has included both solar hot water and solar power as technologies that are eligible for incentives to help you make the switch to renewable energy. These incentives are known as Small-Scale Technology Certificates (STCs) and are linked to Australia’s Renewable Energy Target (RET) scheme.
The value of STCs fluctuates depending on market factors; however, are currently worth around $980 for a typical solar water heater and up to $3,640 for a large residential PV system#. In commercial applications, the incentives increase significantly, as installations are much larger.
STCs are generally applied as a point of sale discount, helping you reduce the up-front cost of going solar. Your local Solahart dealer will be able to provide all the information you need during a free on-site solar assessment.
Increase the value of your home
According to research conducted by a leading real estate online website in 2015, the majority of Australians believe that solar power-equipped homes are more valuable than those relying on traditional means of electricity.
The report states that properties with sustainable features such as solar panels, battery storage and rainwater tanks take on average 13 days less to sell than homes without. In another survey through the same leading real estate online website states that 85% of Australians believe solar power panels increased the value of a property, while 79% believe a solar hot water system would do the same.
Other studies that were done here in Australia and around the world support this research, and although the value is not quantifiable, you would imagine a home with PV or solar hot water would be more saleable or appealing than a similar property that is not as energy efficient or eco-friendly.
Installing a Solahart solar solution means that your home has the added benefit of a brand with over 65 years' experience in solar, for even more peace of mind.
